Scholz explained why he does not approve of the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine

This is a weapon that, if used incorrectly, can reach a specific target somewhere in Moscow

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that he does not want to hand over long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, as they can be used to strike Moscow. About this reports the Daily News.

"A cruise missile with a range of 500 kilometers is a weapon that, if used incorrectly, can reach a specific target somewhere in Moscow." - said Scholz.

He added that Britain and France, which have already delivered long-range missiles to Ukraine, "made sure to know what was landing and where." According to Scholz, for the deployment of such missiles in Ukraine, the participation of Germany will be mandatory and "there is no question about this".

"We cannot do what other countries with other traditions and constitutional institutions do in the same way." said Scholz.

The chancellor admitted that he was annoyed by Berlin's "criticism" for refusing to provide Taurus to Ukrainian defense forces, as Germany supplies Ukraine with far more weapons than almost any other country.

He emphasized that if the US Congress does not allocate new funding to help Ukraine, some countries will have to make more efforts in this matter.
