The head of the GUR Budanov said that half an hour before the destruction of Kakhovskaya HPP, a command to the Russian military to leave the territory of the station was recorded by radio communication
"This man-made man-made catastrophe - a terrorist act and an act of ecocide - was deliberately committed by the Russian Federation. All gossip, rumors that things could have been different are not true," Budanov said on the air of the national telethon.
"There are many facts that directly show how all this happened. The most interesting thing is that in half an hour (before the breakthrough - ed.), the division that was located at the Kakhovskaya HPP was sent over the radio network and told to gather very quickly and leave this area. At the same time, there was a special purpose group there. And after that, what happened happened," he said.
"There is another interesting fact that all units of the Russian occupying forces, which were nearby, actually did not know that this action would take place. And this event caught them by surprise," said the head of the HUR.
Budanova also reported that the occupiers additionally mined the Zaporizhzhya NPP and the cooling pond
"The truth is that by destroying the dam, they destroyed the normal access of water to coolers at the ZNPP. This is the first. But the second, most terrible thing is that the ZNPP was additionally mined. And the worst thing is that the cooler was mined. If they disable it, there is a high probability that there will be significant problems," emphasized the head of the GUR.
Consequences of a possible accident at Zaporizhzhya NPP.
The head of the All-Ukrainian Environmental League told what the disaster at the ZNPP threatens Ukraine with:
- The exclusion zone will be 30 square meters. km, and the contaminated area is 2 million square meters. km This is almost all of Ukraine. Also, the pollution will take over Turkey, Belarus, Moldova, Romania and the Russian Federation (potentially contaminated territories at the Chernobyl NPP spread over 200 sq. km).
- Almost the entire territory of the Zaporizhzhia region may turn out to be uninhabitable for hundreds of years.
- The number of dead may be ten times higher than the number of victims of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
