Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov made an ambiguous statement.

"Of course we have casualties because we are at war. But they are critically smaller than the Russian ones. I can't tell you the number, but I can assure you that the total number is less than the number of people killed in the earthquake in Turkey,” he said.
Reznikov emphasized that the main task for the Ukrainian military command is to save the lives of soldiers, while Russia uses its soldiers as cannon fodder.
"This is a meat grinder tactic. They don't care. In Bakhmut alone, Russia loses 500 people killed and wounded every day. This is one battalion per day - members of the "Wagner Group", mercenaries and former criminals. This is barbarism," said the minister.
