The spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Oleh Nikolenko, is resigning. He announced this on a social network Facebook.
"This was my last week as the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine," — emphasized the diplomat.
He noted that he worked in this position for 3,5 years, most of which fell on the most difficult page in the history of Ukraine.
"Being the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine was a great honor and responsibility for me. And I am grateful to Minister Dmytro Kuleba for his high trust and the opportunity to work together all this time. I thank my team in the press service, colleagues in the department. Together, we brought the communications of Ukrainian diplomacy to the global level. We can be proud that today our approaches are setting global trends, they are being compared to them, studied and adopted in different countries of the world" — Nikolenko added.
He also thanked colleagues in the ministry in Kyiv and abroad for coordinated teamwork.
"After the Russian full-scale invasion, our diplomats spoke with a powerful proactive voice. This was extremely important both in the context of exposing Russia's crimes and attracting international support for our struggle," — noted the diplomat.
At the same time, he said that the end of one chapter means the beginning of a new one.
"Starting our new diplomatic section, we will continue to work together as fruitfully as possible for the benefit of the interests of our state," — emphasized Nikolenko.
