"Increasing tensions" on the part of France and other countries, which declare readiness to send troops to Ukraine, is dangerous and may lead to "unwanted consequences". This statement was made by Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov at a briefing on Monday, March 11.
"Of course, in general, the expansion of the discussion and the persistent activity of Paris in trying to assemble a coalition of countries that declare a hypothetical readiness to send some contingents is nothing more than a direct line to inflame tensions. This is a very dangerous line. It can potentially have very undesirable consequences. We are watching this carefully." He declared.
Peskov also commented on the statement of the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, regarding the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine.
"Our relevant services have long had information that, one way or another, people who call themselves advisers and are directly related to NATO are really in the territory of Ukraine." - said the spokesman of the Kremlin.
It will be recalled that on February 26, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that several NATO and EU member states are discussing the possibility of sending their troops to Ukraine after concluding bilateral agreements. He assured that Slovakia "will not take such a step", but will respect the relevant decisions of NATO countries.
Subsequently, French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine, and French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal also did not rule out the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine.
