On Monday, September 4, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will go to Sochi, where he will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They will discuss Ukraine. It is reported TRT Haber.
Erdogan and Putin plan to discuss bilateral relations and regional issues, including Russia's war against Ukraine. In addition, the exchange of prisoners between Ukraine and Russia will be on the agenda.
The main purpose of the meeting is the search for a solution to the "grain agreement" and global grain supply. Turkey, which positions itself as a mediator, is trying to find a solution after Russia withdraws from the "grain agreement" on July 17, 2023. After that, as is known, world grain prices rose, and the Kremlin began massive shelling of the infrastructure of Odesa and the Danube ports.
"President Erdogan has so far pursued intensive diplomacy to help prevent a global food crisis," Omer Celik, a spokesman for Turkey's pro-government Justice and Development Party, told Daily Sabah, commenting on the upcoming visit.
In addition, during the visit, Erdogan and Putin will discuss the project of transporting Russian gas to Europe through Turkey.
