Consequences of a rocket attack on the capital by the KMVA

On the morning of January 23, Russian troops launched another missile attack on Ukraine. This is the second missile attack on Kyiv since the beginning of this year.

As Serhiy Popko, head of the KMVA, said, the strike was combined, with the use of various weapons. First, the enemy launched Kh-101/Kh-555/Kh-55 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Saratov Region, RF. These rockets entered the capital in two waves.

"These rockets entered the capital in two waves. When they were already directly in the airspace of Kyiv, the enemy launched land-based ballistic missiles at the capital. Almost two dozen air targets were hit by air defense forces and means over Kyiv." - says the message.

As a result of this combined missile attack in the capital, unfortunately, there is destruction and victims. As of 09:00, one person died and another 14 were injured (most with mine and explosive injuries). Necessary medical assistance is provided to the wounded.

In Sviatoshyn district

— rescuers discovered a part of the rocket that could potentially still carry a threat. Therefore, a decision was made to evacuate residents of several nearby residential buildings.
— A headquarters is deployed on the basis of one of the pre-school educational institutions of the district. Rescuers are working to defuse part of the rocket.
— parked cars caught fire; apartments in a multi-storey residential building; damage to non-residential buildings.

У Pechersk — damage to a non-residential building.

In Solomyansk — damage to a residential building.

In Darnytskyi — debris falling on the roof of a multi-story residential building (without further burning) and on the territory of a kindergarten (without destruction and fire).

According to the KMVA, 18 people were injured in Kyiv as a result of a Russian missile attack. 13 of them are hospitalized, including three children. A thirteen-year-old boy and four adults were treated by medics on the spot. One woman was sent to the intensive care unit and continues to receive intensive care. Currently, the victim is alive.
