Students who are on academic leave can be taken into the army. Summonses will be given to students on academic leave, but they retain the right to extend the academic leave for mobilization. It is reported MON.
The Ministry clarifies that Article 23 of the Law of Ukraine "On Mobilization Training and Mobilization" regarding postponement of mobilization does not apply to students on academic leave, as students are not actually studying during this period. They are subject to conscription for military service during mobilization for a special period, unless they have other grounds for deferment of conscription.
It is noted that in the case of a prize, students have the right to an extension of academic leave in connection with mobilization. State officials can resume training with the possibility of further transfer to budget positions if they are available.
"Participants of hostilities and persons who continue their studies after leave due to pregnancy, childbirth and child care are guaranteed to be reinstated to the places of the state (regional) order," the department explains.
