Due to the change of the prime minister in the UK and the elections to the US Senate, there is a lot of information in the media that this may negatively affect the military and financial support of Ukraine. Politician, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Mykhailo Pozhivanov, who heads the Odesa city organization of the Batkivshchyna party, told ElitExpert about the attitudes of Western countries and the inevitable reformatting of international relations.
SUPPORT OF UKRAINE BY EUROPE AND THE USA
The message about the reduction of support for Ukraine by our partners is promoted by Russia, they say that the West is not prepared to continue supporting our country in the war, both with weapons and financially, this is a purely Russian narrative.
I talk a lot with friends and acquaintances in the USA, and they all say one thing - support for Ukraine is quite high. A few days ago, there was a group of senators from both parties of the USA in Ukraine, they met with President Zelenskyi and confirmed that all commitments included in the US budget for 2023 will be fulfilled. Their budget year begins on October XNUMXst, so regardless of the election results, everything planned for Lend-Lease will be implemented.
In addition, the countries of the European Union and the European Parliament also confirm their support for Ukraine and expect our government to fulfill all requirements for joining the EU.
In turn, our government needs to work as productively as possible on Ukraine's accession to the EU as soon as possible, because this will give the country the opportunity to join various programs of financing and support from the member states of the European Union.
We understand that the development of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria takes place at the expense of joint EU funds. And therefore, if we are included in infrastructure, medical, and other social programs to align the plans and standards that exist in the EU today, we will be able to completely update the country. Therefore, we are obliged to complete all the homework on joining the European Union and then demand from them appropriate funding and support for Ukraine. Our leaders from various branches of government must understand that victory and, by and large, the future of Ukraine depend on their actions and corruption scandals.
STRENGTHENING CONTROL
If we analyze the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity, we clearly see that in both cases the same marauders and thugs came to power as before. Unfortunately, nothing has changed in the country.
Therefore, control from the west is necessary. Everyone thinks that the war united the country and everything will change, but the "Great Construction" remained as it was. Especially when our partners give us their funds. It's another matter, if Ukraine earned its own money, then our oligarchs would say - what are you talking about, we earned it ourselves, paid for the budget ourselves, we want to dispose of it ourselves.
But when today the countries of the West, the IMF, the EBRD and other institutions of the European Union give us billions of direct aid, then in this situation, in my opinion, they have the right to ask and control where these funds are spent.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM BRITAIN
At one time, I studied a lot about their state management system, attended parliament meetings in the guest box, had conversations with Prince Charles, today's king of Britain. I also met with Boris Johnson in 2012, at the presentation of his book, then he was the mayor of London, so based on my experience, I can confidently say that the system and institutions of the British government are working correctly.
Perhaps it is a struggle for survival in the old conservative Britain. Because when Liz Truss ran for prime minister, it was understood that she would win, because it is unlikely that the British would trust the government of Rishi Sunak, who is a Hindu by origin. Moreover, she did not have a clear economic program, but she won and headed the government.
Today, a different situation has developed, which was probably influenced by the death of the queen and the state of the economy, which is why Rishi Sunak was elected as the leader of the Conservative Party and prime minister.
In the case of Britain, we also have a Russian narrative. They criticize the fact that the new prime minister was appointed without holding elections, and how dare Europe say something to Russia for their elections after that. Unlike the same Russian Federation, in Britain this procedure has been working for many years, the parties nominated candidates for the post of prime minister, one of them withdrew his candidacy, as a result the Conservative Party won - it is responsible for its representative. If something goes wrong, everyone will be outraged and he will be fired.
THE COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD HAVE ALREADY UNDERSTOOD EVERYTHING
The governments of Western countries understand that the majority of their population is FOR helping Ukraine and against the dictatorship that Putin arranges, when all international agreements are violated and the borders of states are simply not recognized.
Today, Great Britain, regardless of the name of the prime minister, and Italy, where there was also a change of the head of government, will even be forced to continue helping Ukraine. They understand that there is a war going on to preserve their values of democracy and freedom, because today is not the time to play games and turn a blind eye, as the entire world society did in 2014.
When, since 1991, the borders of the countries have been clearly defined and agreed upon and their recognition by the whole world, and then someone says that he does not like it so much, I will take away part of the territory here. The then US President Barack Obama closed his eyes, Angela Merkel too, like the rest of the heads of state, as a result, Crimea was annexed, the People's Republic of China and the People's Republic of China appeared, and all world leaders remained silent.
They were silent until 2022, but today they all really understand that their tacit agreement contributed to Putin's further actions. If he had received a suitable slap for Georgia in 2008, then perhaps there would not have been a war. Europe and the world have already understood that this regime in the Russian Federation must be ended, otherwise it may affect their countries as well.
This also applies to the UN, many people had a question, where are they looking, why are they not doing anything. When the UN was created, no one thought that member states of the organization's Security Council, having the right of veto, would be so irresponsible. Therefore, I am convinced that the statutes of the UN and other international organizations need to be revised and changed, because this war has shown that in this state the world order and agreements are no longer working and the entire civilized world perfectly understands that Russia must be punished for everything it does .
