The commander of the Tavria joint forces, General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, confirmed the arrival of the first cluster bombs in Ukraine. Earlier, the arrival of cluster munitions from the USA was not reported.
"We just got them, we haven't used them yet, but they can make a big difference on the battlefield," Tarnawski said.
The Ukrainian general said that currently the military leadership will determine the areas of the front where this, according to him, very powerful weapon will be used.
"The enemy also understands that, having received these ammunitions, we will have an advantage," says Oleksandr Tarnavskyi and adds that the enemy will give up that area of the area that it cannot hold due to the use of cluster bombs.
The commander of the joint forces explains that Ukraine will not use them in densely populated regions because of the danger of cluster munitions. In addition, their use will be monitored to de-mine the relevant areas in the future.
"The Russians think that we will use them on all areas of the front. This is very wrong. But they are very worried," says Tarnavskyi.
