The path to peace in Ukraine does not go through another "peace agreement" that is unacceptable to us, but involves the complete defeat of the Russian army, which will inevitably lead to the fall of Putin's regime.
This was stated by Yulia Tymoshenko, the head of the Batkivshchyna party, during a press conference held today, June 3, in Lviv.
According to her, now, at the order of the Kremlin, the fifth column is conducting subversive information activities in European countries in order to return Ukraine to the signing of the peace agreement and delay granting us the status of a candidate for EU membership.
"I can say with more or less certainty that if nothing extraordinary happens, then in June we will receive the status of a candidate for EU membership. But talks about "peace agreements" are the most dangerous story," warned the leader of "Batkivshchyna".
She reported that her participation in the Congress of the European People's Party and meetings as part of a working trip with European leaders were primarily aimed at informing top officials about the unacceptability and threats of "peace agreements" from Russia.
"I tried to explain to them that the end of the war for Ukraine and the end of internal problems for the countries that support us, in particular, with the sanctions introduced, is not through a peace agreement, which actually prolongs the war, but only through the complete defeat of the Russian army, which will lead to the fall Putin's regime," the politician is confident.
For the media representatives present, Yulia Tymoshenko explained in detail why the peace agreement proposed by the aggressor is not a path to peace, but a guarantee of a new war in the shortest possible time. The agreement consists of four components: refusal to join NATO, unilateral disarmament of Ukraine, the concept of the status of Crimea and Donbas.
"They want to take away from us the opportunity to have a system of collective security, because joining NATO is a guarantee of closing the issue of encroachment on our territory. Also, Russia wants to control our army, in particular, a significant reduction in its number is expected, as well as a narrowing of the number and list of weapons that we can possess. Such concessions cannot be made under any circumstances," the leader of "Batkivshchyna" emphasized.
As for Crimea, as Yulia Tymoshenko pointed out, Russia proposes to postpone the resolution of this issue for 15 years, and with regard to Donbas, 2 options are offered: another unacceptable "Minsk agreement", which will ensure Russia's political control over Ukraine, or the recognition of two "independent republics" of the DPR and LPR.
"The whole concept of peace proposals from Russia shows that Putin will not give up his imagined painful mission to conquer Ukraine. Therefore, we have to rely on the strength of our army, which cannot be limited by the collective security system. Everything else is utopia! - she summed up.
Answering journalists' questions about providing Ukraine with the necessary weapons, Yulia Tymoshenko noted: "According to the schedules we have, by the end of August, the Ukrainian army should be fully equipped with weapons of NATO standards. This means that during this period we will be able to acquire the opportunity to carry out a counteroffensive of such a scale that the aggressor will not be able to stop."
