This weekend, Zelensky went on a tour of European capitals. On Saturday, the head of state visited Rome and the Vatican, after which he went to Germany on his first visit since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation. And after Germany, Zelensky went to Paris. On May 15, Zelensky came to Great Britain.

As the Ukrainian president noted, one of the goals of these visits is to obtain the necessary weapons for a counteroffensive. In addition, Zelensky is working on the creation of an aviation coalition.

Zelenskyi started his tour on May 13 on an official visit to Rome, де met with the prime minister of Italy by George Maloney and Pope Francis.

At the end of the visit, the president announced "very important decisions" to protect the sky. In Italy, they promised indefinite support and signed a declaration regarding Ukraine's course in the EU and NATO.

"Ukraine is currently fighting to protect European values. These are the values ​​of all our citizens. That is why we decided to take an active position in supporting Ukraine's status as a candidate for EU membership. We will continue to provide our full support to facilitate the gradual integration of Ukraine into the EU," Meloni promised. She also expressed confidence in Ukraine's victory in the war against Russia, saying that Rome will continue to work with allies to provide military support to Kyiv in the future.

Germany announced about military aid package for 2,7 billion euros. These are, in particular, Leopard 1 tanks, Marder armored personnel carriers, four IRIS-T air defense systems. Zelenskyi and the Ukrainian people awarded the Charlemagne Prize for his contribution to the unification of Europe.

As part of his official visit to Germany, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited a military base in the city of Aachen, where Ukrainian servicemen are trained. Zelenskyi and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz talked with Ukrainian soldiers who are studying in the Bundeswehr. Zelensky thanked the Chancellor of Germany for supporting the training mission for the Ukrainian military.

Late in the evening of May 14, Zelensky arrived in Paris where he was met by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, at the Elysee Palace. During the meeting in Paris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi and French President Emmanuel Macron talked about the "peace formula", the creation of a "coalition of fighter jets" and further military assistance to Ukraine.

Following the meeting, Macron promised to provide several battalions of the Armed Forces with "dozens of armored vehicles and light tanks, including the AMX-10RC."

It is also emphasized that France is focusing its efforts on supporting Ukraine's air defense capabilities in order to protect the population from Russian strikes. In addition to the national contribution, the French Republic actively participates in the activities of the European Union and NATO for military assistance to Ukraine and the training of the Ukrainian military.

On May 15, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi visited London where he met with the Prime Minister of Great Britain Rishi Sunak. The main theme of the visit is "expansion of abilities on earth and in heaven".

Great Britain will become a key part of the aviation coalition for Ukraine, assured Rishi Sunak.

"We will be a key part of the coalition of partners that provides such support to Volodymyr and Ukraine. Building the capabilities of the Air Force is not an easy task. This includes not only the transfer of aircraft, but also pilot training and accompanying logistics, in which Great Britain can play a big role," said the Prime Minister.

Rishi Sunak noted that he discussed with Zelensky the training of Ukrainian pilots, which "will start relatively soon." Also later this week, talks will be held on an aviation coalition with other political leaders.
