Visa-free travel between Ukraine and Belarus is canceled

From September 1, Ukraine and Belarus will suspend the visa-free travel agreement. For Ukrainians, this means that they will be allowed to enter the territory of a neighboring country only with a foreign passport, the State Border Service reports.

Crossing the border with a Ukrainian domestic passport will become impossible. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the upcoming changes back in May and gave three months for preparation.

According to preliminary data, Ukrainians who will be frozen in the territory of Belarus by the innovation will be allowed to return home with an internal passport. For further trips, it is recommended to issue a foreign passport either on the territory of Ukraine, or at the embassy in Minsk or at the consulate in Brest (diplomas are waiting for those citizens of Ukraine who permanently reside in Belarus).

As for Ukrainians from the regions bordering Belarus, a simplified procedure for entering the territory of Belarus remains for them.
