The founder of Telegram and VKontakte Pavlo Durov met with the leadership of the UAE.
Photos from the meeting were published by the cousin of the current ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In recent years, Durov has been living in Dubai, where Telegram's headquarters are located. In April 2022, Forbes, citing sources, reported that the billionaire received UAE citizenship. It is already the fourth for him - he also has passports of Russia, St. Kitts and Nevis and France. At the same time, Durov turned to Forbes and asked to stop calling him a Russian billionaire.
"Pavlo left Russia many years ago and is not going to return," his representative told the newspaper.
Last month, Durov became the richest man in the UAE, according to Forbes. His current fortune is estimated at 15,1 billion dollars.
Durov has been a citizen of the UAE since February 2022.
