The Chinese government plans to create the first humanoid robots by 2025, and to endow them with full-fledged artificial intelligence by 2027. It is reported Bloomberg.
China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has developed a plan in which the government will support young companies focused on robotics. In addition, China plans to "set industry standards, develop talents and deepen international cooperation."
“Shares of Chinese robotics companies have soared following this policy decision, adding another dimension to the technology race between the world's two largest economies in chip and hardware manufacturing. American companies such as Tesla Inc. and Boston Dynamics, have so far had an edge in these technologies.” - writes the publication.
In addition, the document states that there are plans to give robots the ability to think by 2027. Still, Bloomberg notes that the document is short on details but high on ambition.
