Oxygen crisis: an oxygen station started operating in Odesa Hospital No. 10

It will produce up to 50 cubic meters of oxygen per hour.

The launch of a new oxygen station took place in Odessa City Clinical Hospital No. 10. This was reported by the press service of the Odessa City Council.

It is capable of producing up to fifty cubic meters of medical gas per hour. This will allow hospital No. 10 to be fully supplied with medical oxygen.

The equipment can work completely in an autonomous mode. For this, a separate backup electric line is laid. In addition to the oxygen station, the hospital has installed two cryocylinders of 2 liters each for storing reserve volumes of oxygen.

Today, a department for patients with coronavirus with 10 beds, 80 of which are connected to the system of centralized oxygen supply, has been deployed in a separate building of GKB No. 66. In addition, the department has 68 oxygen concentrators.

"Due to the increased number of seriously ill patients, we face the threat of oxygen deficiency every day. The oxygen station makes it possible to reduce dependence on external supplies," noted the mayor of Odessa, Gennady Trukhanov.

Now, the oxygen consumption of support hospitals is 15 tons per day. The city authorities intend to purchase the missing amount of oxygen from suppliers.
