Pharmacies will be able to sell prescription drugs without a prescription until the end of martial law

An e-prescription can be issued by a doctor of any specialty of a state, communal or private clinic or a doctor-FOP

Most prescription drugs in Ukraine can be dispensed without a prescription until the end of martial law in the country.

The relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers № 542 was adopted on May 7, 2022 and is valid until the day of termination or cancellation of martial law.

Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko emphasized that from April 1, the list of prescription drugs will not change, only the possibility of obtaining them by electronic prescription will be introduced.

"Actually, the only change is that these drugs were previously dispensed based on a paper prescription, and now an electronic one will be used, which is much more convenient for everyone - the doctor, the patient, and the pharmacist," explained the head of the Ministry of Health.

As you know, a doctor of any specialty of a state, communal or private clinic or a private medical practitioner can issue an e-prescription. An e-prescription can be obtained regardless of the presence of a declaration from a family doctor, however, the patient must be registered with the Health and Welfare Center.
