Editor "Ъ FM" Ivan Yakunin reflects on this matter: taking everything into account, one can conclude that the assets should remain in Russia. In addition, Putin says: those who did not go turned out to be smarter. Then we will try to trace the fate of money that has been in the accounts of Russian banks since February 24, 2022.
The first consequences came immediately. What was entrusted to the broker depreciated on average twice. The fall continued for several days, until the Central Bank simply closed the trading.
Were there currency accounts? This is also imprudent: some banks found themselves under blocking sanctions on the very first day. Access to dollars and euros is lost. If they ended up abroad, there would be no problems, unless the client himself was blacklisted.
Then time went by for weeks. New sanctions package - new banks without SWIFT. There were fewer and fewer opportunities to withdraw money abroad. And to lose them due to blocking is more and more. All this was complicated by huge commissions and long checks of transfers.
Decided to take a risk and save currency in Russia? Okay, but you can't withdraw more than $10, instead, you can watch it turn into candy: currency restrictions collapsed the exchange rate from 120 rubles. for a dollar to 50. Pretty reliable.
There was no currency, but there were rubles? Does not save: inflation of 20% in a few months, the consumer is forced to convert money into goods while the price tags change every hour. Up to 12% was repaid by the end of the year, but the rate is low and deposits will not be saved from this.
#Disappointing summary: last year changed a lot. By analogy with Vladimir Putin, you can easily pick up several examples. For example, Russia was the largest supplier of gas to Europe. And now? Federal budgets have been in surplus for several years. And now? There were thousands of foreign companies in Russia. And now? The president is convinced that it is even worse in the West, and "even on turnips you will have to go to us." Only Russia is not included in the list of the largest exporters: there are China, the USA and Europe.
