The National Bank will collect data on all payments made by individuals, which is not true. This information does not correspond to reality - it is only about legal entities and entrepreneurs.

The National Bank explains that in order to strengthen supervision, from December 2022 on a periodic basis, the regulator will receive generalized information from the acquiring banks exclusively regarding business entities, payment service providers - legal entities that use the banks' e-commerce services.
"The National Bank sent banks a reminder letter No. 25-0005/38228, the purpose of which is to draw attention to the need for timely and correct provision of information in accordance with the requirements specified in previous letters. It was this clarifying letter of the National Bank that was published by the sanctioned pro-Russian resource "Strana.yua" with its provocatively unreliable interpretation," the NBU emphasized.
It was emphasized there that the National Bank uses the specified information exclusively for supervisory purposes in order to strengthen control over banks' compliance with the requirements of Ukrainian legislation.
The analysis of such generalized information allowed the National Bank to identify the problems of using bank services, including electronic commerce, for the purpose of servicing the shadow market, in particular servicing the activities of the illegal gambling business.
Currently, the NBU continues to carry out inspections of a number of banks and non-banking financial institutions, the activities of which may contain signs of violation of the legislation of Ukraine in the field of combating the legalization (laundering) of proceeds obtained through crime, the financing of terrorism and the financing of the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, and in the field of payment legislation.
"These actions, according to the estimates of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine, contributed to a significant increase in tax revenues to the budget. Thus, in the first five months of 2023, UAH 2,3 billion was transferred to the budget for the organization of gambling, while for the whole of 2022 - only UAH 731 million (of which UAH 220 million came in December - that is, from the moment of the beginning of enhanced supervision from the NBU), and for 2021 - only UAH 205 million," the National Bank reported.
