Pay even if you don't use it: a new method of paying for gas delivery has been introduced in Ukraine

Now Ukrainians will have to pay for the delivery of blue fuel, even if they did not use it

Now Ukrainians will have to pay for the delivery of blue fuel, even if they did not use it. In turn, those who economize still have large bills, as shown by the meter. As it turned out, Ukraine introduced a new method for calculating the consumption of blue fuel.

What is this new formula, ElitExpert understood.

Innovations

From January 1, 2021, the method of calculating the fee for the distribution of gas has changed and the so-called minimum volumes of the ordered capacity have appeared: if earlier the fee was calculated based on the readings of the meter, now consumers will pay, at least, for 39 cubic meters, even if they used less.

This is referred to in Resolution NKREKU No. 580. According to the document, the fee for gas distribution is calculated based on the actual volume of gas consumption per gas hour, but cannot be less than the following indicators:

39 cubic meters - if the user has only a gas stove;

126 cubic meters - if the user has a gas stove and a gas column for heating water;

314 cubic meters - if the consumer uses natural gas comprehensively, including for heating.

Thus, even if the consumer does not burn a single cubic meter of gas during the year, he will still be billed, which will depend on the gas equipment installed in the house or apartment.

How much will we pay?

To understand your annual capacity, you need to calculate the total gas consumption for the period from September 31, 2019 to October 1, 2020. Having divided the received sum into 12 equal payments, he will receive the amount of the monthly payment for the delivery of gas.

In turn, depending on the region, the amount may differ significantly. Users of "Kyivgaz" whose delivery is 1 cubic meter will pay the least. estimated at 0,372 kopecks.

If we take this price into account, then with an annual capacity of 39 cubic meters. The monthly fee for clients of "Kyivgascha" starts at UAH 14,50. With an annual ordered capacity of 126 cubic meters. - 46,87 hryvnias. At 314 cubic meters - 116,80 hryvnias.

The largest tariff for gas delivery to eight operators at once is UAH 2,148 per 1 cubic meter. Clients of these operators will pay for an annual capacity of 39 cubic meters. from UAH 83,77 for 126 cubic meters - from UAH 270,64 for 314 cubic meters - that's UAH 674,47.

Note that we are only talking about payment for gas delivery. It is possible with operator tariffs read here.

How did it happen?

This may sound funny, but the new technique is designed to make Ukrainians pay less, although in fact it is exactly the opposite. The fact is that at the end of 2019, when the tariff for the ordered capacity was accepted, very large accrued volumes were prescribed in the Code of Gas Distribution Systems, due to which consumers would receive huge payments. The new technique became a kind of compromise, although why not just leave everything as it was before is a mystery.

As a reminder, earlier ElitExpert dealt with how much Ukrainians overpay for gas, electricity and water.
