The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine extended martial law and general mobilization until May 13, 2024.
10456 People's Deputies of Ukraine voted for the law "On approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On the extension of martial law in Ukraine" (registration number 335).
In the decree, which was approved by law, it is said that "in connection with the long-term large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, based on the proposals of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, martial law in Ukraine has been extended from 5:30 a.m. on February 14, 2024 for a period of 90 days, i.e. until May 13, 2024."
People's deputies also voted for the law "On the approval of the Decree of the President of Ukraine "On the extension of the general mobilization period" (registration number 10457). The document was supported by 323 People's Deputies.
It is foreseen that in connection with the ongoing large-scale aggression of Russia against Ukraine and for the purpose of ensuring the defense of the state, maintaining the combat capability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations, it is planned to extend the period of general mobilization for 14 days from February 2024, 90.
On February 5, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi submitted to the Verkhovna Rada draft laws on the extension of martial law and general mobilization in Ukraine for another 90 days.
