The Council will continue martial law and mobilization in Ukraine at the next plenary session. The relevant presidential decree has already been submitted for approval by the Verkhovna Rada.
This will be the fourth extension of martial law this year.
It is currently valid until August 23, and will be extended for another 3 months, until November 23.
For the first time, martial law was introduced in Ukraine on the first day of the full-scale invasion of Russia - February 24, 2022, although the undeclared war had been going on for 8 years.
