The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, in an address to Russians in the morning, announced the partial mobilization of the country's citizens.
According to him, only those citizens who are in the reserve and, first of all, those who served in the ranks of the armed forces of the Russian Federation, have certain military accounting specialties and relevant experience will be subject to conscription.
"In order to protect Russia, its sovereignty and integrity, I consider it necessary to support the proposal to carry out partial mobilization," Putin said.
At the same time, those called to military service must undergo additional military training before being sent to the unit.
According to Putin, all issues of material, resource and financial provision of defense enterprises must be resolved by the government immediately.
Mobilization will begin on September 21.
