The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, in cooperation with the State Customs Service of Ukraine, identified potential risks of illegal use of humanitarian aid amounting to UAH 171,78 million.
About this reported the Ministry of Defense with reference to the results of joint internal audits from March to July 2024
In particular, according to the State Customs Service, the following passed through customs control for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine:
- 424 units of vehicles
- 476.23 tons of goods of various names without specifying the value
- 6.2 tons of food products and plastic pellets
However, as stated in the message, the department could not confirm the fact of receipt of these goods by military units.
The Ministry of Defense sent relevant reports to law enforcement agencies to assess the legality of the actions of individual officials on the grounds of illegal enrichment, misappropriation of property, and abuse of office.
According to these facts, the investigation is ongoing.
