On the occasion of International Children's Day, a football tournament of children's teams of the city and region was held at the Ukrainian Children's Center "Young Guard" in Odesa, support in the organization of the event was provided by BF "Noble Matter" Sergey Shutov.
As the deputy director of the center told Oleksandr Khmilkivskyi, the football tournament was attended by children's teams from Odesa and the region, most of whom regularly train in the "Young Guard".
"This event was organized on the initiative of the director of our children's center Oleksiy Arsenyuk. In addition to the football tournament, our partners and I set up various locations where children took master classes from the city's educational institutions and tried themselves in the role of a repairman, cook, hairdresser, and even a policeman or national guard. I would like to especially thank the National Police and the National Guard of Odesa, who conducted weapons handling lessons for the children, allowed them to try on body armor and helmets of special forces, and talked about the handling of dangerous objects, which is very important and, unfortunately, relevant today.", — said Oleksandr Khmilkivskyi.
In addition to athletes, children from orphanages from Rozdilnaya and Tarutino and children from low-income families of the region were invited to the holiday.
At the end of the football tournament, there was a ceremonial awarding of medals and cups to the teams. At the invitation of the management of the children's center, Oleg Radkovskii, the first deputy chairman of the Odesa Regional Council, came to congratulate the future champions, who, together with the deputy director of the "Young Guard" center Mykola Stepanchenko and the head of the "Noble Cause" BF Serhiy Shutov, awarded the teams of the participants of the football tournament.
"In addition to diplomas and awards, all children received sweet gifts from us. The holiday turned out to be very bright and rich, and children's smiles and a lot of selfies are the best indicator of the result of our work," said Serhii Shutov.
After the official part of the award ceremony, the festive part continued - all the children were waiting for entertainment on the playgrounds, show-experiments from the "School of Scientific Miracles" and many other interesting and useful things.
The Ukrainian Children's Center "Young Guard" will celebrate its centenary this year. According to the institution's management, the center has everything to become the pearl of children's camping in Ukraine - a beautiful area, various sports sections and the sea coast.
"Today, the "Young Guard" needs modernization for more effective development, we have already developed several concepts that will be presented to the relevant Ministries. Our children should rest and develop in the best conditions, and we should do everything to create such conditions", — added Oleksandr Khmilkivskyi.
