In Germany, the number of Ukrainians who are under temporary protection in the country has decreased sharply, it shows statistics, published by Eurostat on September 10.

Starting in July 2024, Germany removed from the register people who are under temporary protection and whose status is no longer valid because they have either obtained another protection status or permanently left the territory of Germany.

Compared to the end of June 2024, this resulted in a significant decrease in the number of persons under temporary protection reported by Germany - by 236 people (-925%).

In total, as of July 31, 2024, slightly more than 4,1 million non-EU citizens who fled Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression had the status of temporary protection in the EU.
