The new bicycle route will start from Dolgoi Street and finish at Kulikova Field. This was reported in the press service of the Odessa City Council.
Work on marking the new bicycle route has started on Lvivskaya street. A new traffic management scheme has already been introduced here, which includes a lane for cyclists.
"This is the so-called bicycle route with the working name "Center-Fontan-Tairova". According to the project, it starts from Dolgoi Street, which is a logical continuation of the already existing bicycle lane along Dolgoi Street, further along the following streets: Lvivskaya, Fontanskaya dorozhe, Szegedskaya, Kanatnaya and Kulikovu polya. This is a big project and there will be a lot of work," said Artem Sydorenko, director of the city's Department of Transport, Communications and Traffic Management.
New markings with "cold plastic" are gradually applied to the specified streets - this guarantees its safety for several years.
It should be noted that due to the fact that a piece of the carriageway is being taken under the bicycle path, the width of the lanes for motor vehicles is decreasing - from the previous 3,5 meters to 2,8-3 meters. This is stipulated by new construction and road regulations and traffic rules.
