As indicated in Decrees of the President of Ukraine dated January 30, 2004, "the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky III degree is awarded to servicemen and employees of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations formed in accordance with the laws of Ukraine, and other persons for flawless performance of military and service duty, valor and honor shown at the same time».
