Donald Trump, who has become the candidate for the presidency of the Republican Party, has chosen as his likely vice president the senator from the state of Ohio, 39-year-old JD Vance.
Trump said he decided to choose Dee Vance as his running mate after "long consideration." He cited service in the US Marine Corps, work in finance and IT, and legal education as among his credits.
Note that Dee Vance is the biggest critic of military aid to Ukraine among Trump's team. Among other things, he proposed that Kyiv declare neutral status, enter into negotiations with Russia and be ready to make territorial concessions.
In addition, he harshly criticized the draft law being considered by the Verkhovna Rada on the banning of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate.
"You cannot deprive an entire religious community of religious freedom because some of its adherents disagree with you on the current conflict. We should be ashamed of ourselves for refusing to use the billions of dollars we send to Ukraine as leverage to ensure and guarantee real religious freedom. freedom," Vance declared.
