First, Vladimir Zelensky got acquainted with the implementation of the reconstruction and construction project of the airfield complex of the International Airport "Odessa". The Head of State also demonstrated a new airport terminal designed to receive three million passengers per hour.
After that, he inspected the construction of a kindergarten in the city-type settlement Avangard of the Ovidiopol district. During the inspection of the facility, the President was told that a kindergarten was being built in a new residential area in a district where about 25 residents live, but there was not a single kindergarten. Construction financing is carried out from regional and local budgets.
Then Zelensky familiarized himself with the functioning of the Center for the Safety of Citizens of the Avangard urban-type settlement created last year.
The main goal of the Center is to increase the effectiveness of civil and fire protection of the population, to help citizens eliminate the possible consequences of accidents, catastrophes, and natural disasters. It serves 30 thousand people. In an hour, the Center helped put out 120 fires.
After lunch, the President was also shown the progress of the reconstruction of the bridge crossing over the Khadzhibey estuary on the Kyiv-Odessa highway. The head of the State Highway Agency of Ukraine (Ukravtodor) Oleksandr Kubrakov promised that the second half of the bridge will be repaired before the next May holidays, and there will be no more traffic jams at the entrance to Odessa.
