Cashless payment: Ukrainians began to pay more with payment cards

A quarter of transactions were for payment of goods and services via the Internet.

Ukrainians began to use bank cards more often for payments. Since the beginning of this year, the number of such operations has increased by a third. Such data were published in the National Bank of Ukraine.

Thus, according to the data of the National Bank of Ukraine, in the first half of the year almost 90% of operations were carried out by payment cards. This is a third more than at the end of last year. More than 51% payment for goods and 43% transfers from card to card. There were 20% more points where payment cards are accepted.

According to the department, in 10 months of 2021, cashless operations were carried out in the amount of more than 2 trillion hryvnias.

It should be noted that a quarter of these operations were for payment of goods and services via the Internet. However, the majority of payments fall on payments in retail networks.

Since the beginning of the year, the number of payment cards has grown to almost 8 million.
