President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on the United States and partners to maximize pressure on Russia amid Russian attacks on Ukraine's energy sector. He announced this in evening address Zelensky
The President recalled that on January 15, Russian occupiers again attacked critical infrastructure in a number of Ukrainian cities. Kharkiv, Kyiv, border regions, Dnipropetrovsk and Odesa regions were under attack.
"We will be in more contact with partners. I just spoke with Mark Rutte, in particular about the PURL program and our possibilities to purchase air defense missiles," he noted.
Zelensky added that he also discussed diplomatic work with the U.S. Ukraine is not an obstacle to peace, it is hindered by Russian missiles, drones, and the Kremlin's attempts to destroy Ukraine.
"When Ukrainians don't have electricity for 20-30 hours because of Russia, when Russian strikes are aimed at breaking our energy system and our people, it is Russia that needs to be pressured," the president summed up.
