Despite calls from partners, Ukraine will not lower the mobilization age. After all, before increasing the size of the army, it is necessary to provide existing brigades with a sufficient amount of weapons and equipment. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during a joint press conference with German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
Zelensky noted that in Ukraine, more than a hundred brigades are at the front, and each of them needs to be staffed every day.
According to him, one of the main problems remains the lack of necessary equipment.
"The equipment is armored vehicles, artillery, everything that is needed in each brigade. But in a large number of brigades, the equipment is constantly breaking down or needs repair," — the president emphasized.
He noted that before considering increasing the size of the army, it is necessary to provide existing units with sufficient weapons and technical equipment.
"A person must be protected. Not just protected, but have appropriate weapons and knowledge. This is what our partners should provide the Ukrainian army with," — added the head of state.
Zelensky stressed that support from allies should focus not only on increasing the size of the army, but also on its technical modernization.
