The talks between Ukraine, the US and Russia in Abu Dhabi have concluded and became the first two-day trilateral format in a long time. About this said President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
According to him, the parties managed to discuss a wide range of issues, and the conversations themselves were constructive.
From the Ukrainian side, the meetings were attended by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Head of the Military Regional Directorate Kyrylo Budanov, Commander of the Joint Forces Andriy Hnatov, People's Deputy David Arakhamia, Permanent Representative of Ukraine to the UN Serhiy Kyslytsia, and Deputy Head of the Military Regional Directorate Vadym Skibitsky.
The American side was represented by Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Dan Driscoll, Alex Grinkevich, and Josh Gruenbaum. Russia was represented by representatives of military intelligence and the army.
According to Zelensky, the key topic of discussion was the possible parameters of the end of the war. Particular attention was paid to the issue of American monitoring and control over the process of ending the war and maintaining real security.
The American side also raised the issue of formats for consolidating agreements on ending the war and the security conditions necessary for this.
Following the meetings, the parties agreed to report back to their capitals on the results of the talks and coordinate further steps with the leaders of the states. The military identified a list of issues for a possible next meeting.
"Considering the readiness to move forward – and Ukraine is ready – further meetings will take place, and potentially next week. I look forward to the delegation's personal report upon its return," — Zelensky said.
