Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a telephone conversation with Trump's special representative Steve Witkoff and the US President's son-in-law Jared Kushner. The parties discussed the topic of ending the war. The head of state announced this in Telegram.
Zelenskyy informed that the conversation was also attended by Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Andriy Hnatov.
"We paid attention to many aspects and discussed key things quite quickly that could guarantee an end to the bloodshed and remove the threat of a third Russian invasion, as well as the threat of Russia not fulfilling its promises, as has happened many times in the past," - said the president.
The Head of State emphasized that Ukraine is determined to continue to work honestly with the United States in order to truly bring peace.
"We agreed on the next steps, the formats for the conversation with America. Thank you to President Trump for such an intensive approach to the negotiations," — the post says.
Zelensky also added that he is waiting for Umerov and General Hnatov with a detailed report, since not everything can be discussed over the phone.
"We need to work in detail with the teams on ideas and proposals. Our approach is that everything should be able to work, every important thing for peace, security and reconstruction," — the president summed up.
