The Ukrainian delegation at the talks in Miami must convey to the American side the understanding that Ukraine has never been an obstacle to peace, and that the Russian Federation discredits the diplomatic process with constant air terror. President Volodymyr Zelensky said this informed in the appeal.
In particular, the head of state is expecting the first reports on the meetings in Miami from the Ukrainian delegation consisting of Rustem Umerov, Kyrylo Budanov, and David Arakhamia later in the evening.
"The main task for the Ukrainian delegation is to provide all the real information about what is happening, about the consequences of the Russian strikes. Among other things, the consequence of this terror is the discrediting of the diplomatic process, people are losing faith in diplomacy, and the Russian strikes are constantly worsening even the small opportunities for dialogue that existed," Zelensky emphasized.
As the head of state emphasized, the American side must understand this.
The president also added that progress is also needed regarding the documents that were being prepared.
"Ukraine has never been and will not be an obstacle to peace, and it is now up to the partners whether diplomacy will develop," — Zelensky noted.
It should be recalled, today, January 17, Kyrylo Budanov arrived in the United States together with the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov and the head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia.
"We will have an important conversation with American partners regarding the details of the peace agreement. A joint meeting with Stephen Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and Daniel Driscoll is planned. Ukraine needs a just peace. We are working for a result," — noted Budanov.
