President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has appointed Major General Andriy Hnatov, who previously held the position of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to the position of Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This is stated in the decree of the President of Ukraine, reports General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"In order to improve the quality of military command, by decree of the President of Ukraine - Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Major General Andriy GNATOV has been appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," - says the document.
According to the General Staff, Major General Andrey Gnatov has been tasked with "to increase the efficiency of the management vertical of the Armed Forces, in particular in the process of reorganization and implementation of the corps structure, efficiency in making and implementing decisions of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's Headquarters, as well as the implementation of combat experience in planning and commanding troops."
Lieutenant General Anatoliy Bargylevych will continue his service as Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
"The new Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine received important tasks to monitor the reform processes being implemented in the army, verify compliance with legislation and decisions made in the Ministry of Defense system, taking into account his rich managerial experience gained in the Armed Forces," — the message says.
