President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived on an official visit to Greece. His plane has already landed at Athens airport. This was reported by ERT NEWS.
According to media reports, at about 12:30 local time, a plane carrying Zelensky landed at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport. Athens was the first stop on his new European tour. The Ukrainian leader was met at the airport by Greek Deputy Prime Minister Kostis Hadzidaks, with whom Zelensky had a brief conversation.
The main topics of the visit are the creation of a vertical LNG transportation corridor and the preparation of a new energy agreement between Kyiv and Athens. The document is expected to strengthen Ukraine's energy security.
During his stay in Athens, Zelensky will hold a number of meetings with the country's leadership. First, at 13:00 p.m., he will meet with President of the Republic Konstantinos Tasoulas at the Presidential Palace. At 13:45 p.m., Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will receive the Ukrainian leader at the Maximos building. Press statements and an expanded meeting of delegations are planned after the talks.
This is Zelenskyy's second visit to Athens - he first visited there in August 2023. The next stops on his European trip will be Paris and Madrid.
