Ukraine has agreed to a ceasefire to prove that the Russian Federation will not go along with it. Russian President Vladimir Putin is not ready for this. This was stated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in interview Eurovision News.
"There is the Middle East (Middle East — Ed.), which always told me tete-a-tet, in other conversations, that Putin is ready for a ceasefire — an unconditional one. It is Ukraine that does not want the end of the war, it is Ukraine that does not want peace. That is, Russian propaganda has worked very hard there. With such steps, I have clearly shown that we are ready for a ceasefire, but now you will see that Putin is not ready," the Ukrainian leader explained.
According to him, after that there were several contacts with countries of the Middle East and the Global South, which had previously had relations with Ukraine. "We didn't even talk much because we were balancing between us and the Russians."
