Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he will be in Ankara on May 15, where he is scheduled to meet with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. He also confirmed his readiness for talks with Putin during a briefing on May 13.

According to the head of state, if Putin does not fly to Ankara, but chooses Istanbul, he and Erdogan are ready to go there. "So that there is no manipulation by Russia," - explained the president.

"We will do everything to make this meeting with Putin happen. Only he can make a decision on a ceasefire," Zelensky emphasized.

The President of Ukraine also announced that he had invited US President Donald Trump to join the negotiations.

As previously reported, the United States will be represented by US President Trump's special envoys, Keith Kellogg and Steve Witkoff, at the talks between Russia and Ukraine, which will take place on May 15 in Istanbul.

Later, it became known that Donald Trump may join the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in Istanbul - it all depends on whether Putin will be there.

Also, the head of the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, Andriy Yermak, stated that if Putin refuses to come to Turkey, this will be the last signal that Russia does not want to end this war, and then there should be a strong reaction from the US and the whole world in the form of new sanctions against the Russian Federation and increased military assistance to Ukraine.
