Zelenskyy called the first step towards ending the war with Russia

A mutual cessation of attacks on energy infrastructure facilities could be the first step

Zelenskyi noted that an agreement between Moscow and Kyiv to end strikes on energy infrastructure would be an important step towards de-escalating the conflict.

A mutual cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure facilities may be the first step towards ending the hot phase of the war with Russia. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyi, reports the Financial Times.

It is noted that the head of state stated that the Russian Federation's cessation of air attacks on Ukrainian energy facilities and cargo ships could pave the way for negotiations on ending the war. According to him, obtaining a result on these points would be a signal that, perhaps, Moscow is ready to end the war.

"We saw during the first (Peaceful - Ed.) summit that a decision could be made regarding energy security. In other words: we are not attacking their (Russian — Ed.) energy infrastructure, they are not attacking ours. Could this bring an end to the hot phase of the war? I think so." - said the president.
