President Volodymyr Zelenskyy answered for the first time how many Ukrainian soldiers died in the war with Russia. The head of state said this at a press conference on February 25.
"I don't know if I have the right. This is a very serious point. Recently, there have been voices in the radical part of American politics that are not on our side. They said that Ukraine allegedly lost 300 dead. Then there was information from the Russian Federation that Ukraine lost more than 100 killed. It's all a lie.
31 thousand Ukrainian soldiers died in this war. Not 300, not 150, which is what Putin and his circle of liars are lying about. But nevertheless, everyone is a great loss for us." said the president.
Zelenskyi also mentioned the losses of the Russian Federation. According to his data, 180 Russians died in the war. The total losses, including the wounded, of the Russians are up to 500.
"I will not say how many wounded we have. I don't want the Russian Federation to find out how many of our soldiers are no longer on the battlefield. There are missing persons. I will not play with these numbers. Because the last exchange showed that two boys were on the list of missing persons, but returned from captivity alive. And tens of thousands of dead civilians in the occupied territories. We don't know exactly how many of our civilians they killed," — concluded Zelensky.
