Zelensky is taking a big risk to turn the tide of the war — Time

Zelensky is becoming an unpredictable player

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, is taking a big risk in order to turn the tide of the war and preserve his political positions within the country. In particular, the more aggressive attacks on targets inside Russia are a sign of Ukraine's fears about the stability of the West. What does he write about? Time.

The article says that voters in America and Europe, who support Ukraine both militarily and financially, are increasingly divided on whether Ukraine can regain control of 18% of its territory.

The publication writes that even if the US Congress approves an increase in military aid for 2024, it will probably be Washington's last aid package before the end of the November elections. At the same time, the problems in Germany and the opposition of Hungary make it difficult to fill the deficit in military aid.

At the same time, according to reports, the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, is putting the Russian economy on a military track. Kyiv is considering the possibility of mobilizing an additional 500 military personnel. Even if this turns out to be possible, it will not help in a war against an invader with a much larger population and economy.

According to journalists, Kyiv is now doing everything possible to expand domestic defense production, especially drones for combat operations and targeting targets inside Russia.

"Zelensky is already taking greater risks to turn the war around and preserve his political position at home, including more aggressive attacks on targets in Russia and occupied areas of Ukraine." - says the material.

Liquidations of Russian officials and strikes on occupied Crimea may also become more frequent.

"This, in turn, will provoke more intensive Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities. Any of these attacks (and there are many possible targets) is associated with the risk of retaliation from Putin, which will lead to more direct involvement of NATO in the conflict. Neither Russia nor NATO wants such an expansion, but wars are taking on a life of their own." adds Time.
