President Volodymyr Zelenskyi held a telephone conversation with the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday, it is reported OP.
"Even against the background of new global challenges, the world must continue to make efforts to support the implementation of the Ukrainian peace formula. Turkey's voice and position in this matter are important." Volodymyr Zelenskyi said.
The President of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to Turkey for participating in the previous consultations at the level of national security advisers and for its willingness to send a representative to the next meeting to be held in Malta.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi also noted the participation of Turkish specialists in the first Forum of Defense Industries in Kyiv and the preparation of the conference on the restoration of Ukraine, which will be held in Turkey in November.
The interlocutors discussed the further development of bilateral relations and emphasized the importance of implementing all the agreements reached during the last meeting of the presidents in Istanbul.
The head of state also stated that despite Russia's disruption of the Black Sea grain initiative, Ukraine remains the guarantor of global food security and ensures the operation of an alternative humanitarian route in the Black Sea.
In addition, Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the situation in the Middle East and agreed on the need to ensure the protection of the civilian population and respect for humanitarian law.
"Unfortunately, Ukraine understands well what war and civilian casualties are. That is why we categorically condemn any terrorist methods and violence and advocate for the prevention of further escalation." - stressed the Head of the Ukrainian State.
