Ukraine, the United States, and Russia will hold their first trilateral meeting at the technical level. It will take place in the Emirates in the coming days. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
The Ukrainian head of state recalled that today, January 22, the American delegation will travel to Moscow. US officials were waiting for Zelenskyy's meeting with US President Donald Trump in order to go to negotiations with Vladimir Putin.
"And now they're going to go and my team is going to meet the American team and I think it's going to be the first three-way meeting in the Emirates and I think it's going to be tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. So it's going to be a two-day meeting in the Emirates," said Zelensky.
According to the president, he hopes that the Emirates are aware of such plans, as sometimes the American side arranges "surprises." In any case, the negotiating teams will go there.
"I think it's good if this trilateral meeting starts at a technical level... The Russians have to be ready to compromise, because you know, everyone has to be ready, not just Ukraine, and that's important for us," — he pointed out.
The president suggested that American officials could meet with Putin in Moscow on the night of January 23 or as early as tomorrow afternoon.
"Maybe they (the Russians — ed.) will have to wait a little while for the meeting to take place. I don't know. But tomorrow and the day after tomorrow we will have a trilateral meeting, our guys will have a trilateral meeting," - noted Zelensky.
According to him, both Ukraine and Russia are currently in a difficult situation. In particular, many Ukrainians do not have electricity as a result of Russian strikes, but the Russians are also receiving responses to their attacks.
