US President Donald Trump has suspended military aid to Ukraine. However, the consequences of this will not be felt immediately. This is reported by CNN.
According to a U.S. official familiar with the situation, it will take some time, perhaps days or weeks, for the effects of the end of U.S. military aid to be felt by the Ukrainian military. However, once the country’s current stockpiles begin to run low, the consequences will be severe, even if other countries rush to fill the gap.
"Europe cannot fill the capacity gap alone," - said the official.
CNN also quoted one expert as saying that the move would be felt for two to four months, as aid from European countries helps Kyiv stay in the fight for now. However, Mark Kanchian, a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, said that "the blow will be big."
He also added that the Trump administration has other forms of assistance to Ukraine that could be suspended or completely canceled, including intelligence sharing and training of Ukrainian forces.
Let us remind you that a few hours ago Bloomberg wrote that Trump ordered the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine. We are talking about the supply of American weapons and military equipment, including those already loaded onto aircraft and ships, as well as those located in transit zones in Poland.
