The Russian town of Engliels was restless tonight. Local publics reported the explosion, and a siren sounded at the local strategic airfield.
The Russian military department claims that a Ukrainian drone was allegedly shot down near the military airfield. Three Russian servicemen died as a result of the fall.
"On the twenty-sixth of December, at around 1:35 a.m. Moscow time, a Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicle was shot down at low altitude by the means of air defense of the Russian Air Force while approaching the Engels military airfield of the Saratov Region. As a result of the fall of the wreckage of the drone, three Russian servicemen were injured," the message states.
It is from this airfield that strategic bombers take off and launch missiles over Ukraine.
Engels is 800 km from Ukraine.
