The State Department of the United States criticized the so-called "peace plan" of Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin, noting the Russian Federation's unreadiness for serious discussions about peace in Ukraine. This was stated by the spokesman of the US State Department, Matthew Miller, during the briefing.
A representative of the US State Department called the statement of the owner of the Kremlin "another maximalist statement", in which he called on Ukraine to give up even more of its sovereign territory than the one currently occupied by Russia.
"No responsible country can say that this is a reasonable basis for peace. This is against the UN Charter. It goes against basic morality. It goes against basic common sense." - said Miller.
He noted that the Russian Federation is not ready for any serious, honest conversations.
"For Russia, this is particularly evident as it continues its bombing of critical infrastructure in Ukraine, threatens ships in the Black Sea, and forcibly resettles tens of thousands of Ukrainian children." - said Miller.
