The Department of Veterans Affairs may reimburse the cost of driving training in specialized vehicles for veterans with disabilities, official sites of both clubs report in the department.
Within the framework of the project "Driving Schools for Persons with Disabilities", the specified category of veterans will be able to undergo training in driving a vehicle for persons with disabilities and obtain a driver's license for the right to drive such a vehicle.
The service is available to disabled war veterans, their family members, and families of fallen Defenders of Ukraine.
Such driving schools currently operate only in six regions of Ukraine - Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, Lviv, Odessa, and Khmelnytskyi regions.
"Improving the mobility and independence of war veterans is one of the key areas of work of the Ministry of Veterans. We initiated amendments to the Cabinet of Ministers' Resolution No. 432, thanks to which people with disabilities from among war veterans, members of their families and families of fallen Defenders will be able to learn to drive and obtain a driver's license in special driving schools at the expense of the Ministry of Veterans," — said Deputy Minister for Veterans Affairs Yulia Kirillova.
The goal of the project is not only to provide veterans with practical skills, but also to ensure their mobility, independence, and integration into active life.
