In September of this year, about 208 civilians were killed in Ukraine. It became the month with the highest number of civilian casualties in 2024. This is stated in reports of the UN Monitoring Mission.
"In the last month, for the third month in a row, the number of casualties among the civilian population was higher than in all other months since October 2022," — said the head of the MMPLU, Danielle Bell.
According to previous data, 1 civilians were injured in September. At the same time, the trend towards an increase in the number of victims among civilians was noticed by monitoring as early as July.
The report also states that about 30 attacks in September were carried out on infrastructure, 25 on the territory controlled by Ukraine, and 5 on the territory occupied by the Russian Federation.
According to the UN, starting from October 6, the Russian Federation launched numerous attacks using rockets and barrage ammunition. In particular, 14 civilians were killed and 28 were wounded as a result of five recent attacks in Odesa region.
